ÿþ<HTML><TITLE>Visiting Amanohashidate - 09/03/05</title> <BODY><CENTER><font size=2> Here are photographs from my visit to <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amanohashidate">)YKjËz</a> (<I>Amanohashidate</i>). It's a famous natural landmark in <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miyazu%2C_Kyoto">Miyazu</a>, Japan. Indeed, it is considered one of Japan's <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three Views of Japan">three scenic views</a>.<BR>These pictures were taken on September 3rd, 2005 from the west side of the bay. These first three pictures are in a higher-resolution than I normally use because I wanted to take a nice picture of such a beautiful place. Click on the smaller versions to see the big ones. Unfortunately, I am also presented in horrifying detail.<P> <a href="http://www.feitclub.com/images/ama01.jpg"><img src="http://www.feitclub.com/images/ama01.jpg" height=600 width=800 border=0></a><P> <a href="http://www.feitclub.com/images/ama02.jpg"><img src="http://www.feitclub.com/images/ama02.jpg" height=600 width=800 border=0></a><P> <a href="http://www.feitclub.com/images/amaD01.jpg"><img src="http://www.feitclub.com/images/amaD01.jpg" height=600 width=800 border=0></a><P> <I>Amanohashidate</i> translates to something like "heaven's bridge." Visitors are encouraged to view the "bridge" thusly to acheive the proper effect:<P> <img src="http://www.feitclub.com/images/amaD02.jpg"><P> Here's an attempted photograph from that angle to recreate the view for you at home. No, I didn't just invert a regular picture, I really took this from between my legs.<BR>Thank goodness for my LCD screen! Kazu also helped spot me.<P> <img src="http://www.feitclub.com/images/ama03.jpg"><P> Sadly, my battery expired as I was trying to take a picture of Kazu in front of the scenery, so that's all I've got.
