Unbelievable Memories
It's been twenty years since Batman was released in theaters. I remember begging my Mom to take me to an afternoon matinee after Children's Theater to see it and it blew me away. I watched it again on Saturday night and it didn't disappoint, although the new Nolan Batman flicks are noticeably better. Not that Keaton v. Nicholson doesn't rock, but the storytelling is just light-years ahead of the older pictures.
Oh, were you expecting something more relevant to recent events? Fine, look at this:

"I'm Batman." What, like he knows I'm fibbing?

Am I the first to comment? Wow! Congrats, Dan! I can't wait to read all about the little tyke. You look exhausted but happy!
Thank you everyone. More details will come soon, including his name and how I came up with it. Be sure to read Monday's (belated) post for the tale of his birth!
Dad, I HOPE you're fibbing. The first Batman is still better than the Nolan movies. The new one has been in heavy rotation, and frankly, other than a few scenes, it just gets weirder and more ghetto each time.
Oh, glad that baby dropped with no complications. Ready, set GO!

It can't be twenty years since the original Batman came out at the cinema....
I'm 30, and I went to see Batman on my 12th birthday, and I remember it being the first 12-rated film ever in the UK....
Imma check the IMDB on this.... ¬.¬
Also, gratz again sir!

Trout: FINALLY, someone who wants to talk Batman! I know you've never been fully on board for the Nolan pictures, but I think if you rewatch the Burton original you'll see the cobwebs on the script. Good performances though and the music still rocks.
Blokeh: Being American, I was referring to the US release date. No idea when it hit the UK, but I can't imagine it was more than a few weeks later.
