Silver Lining, I Suppose
Under a ridiculously grey sky my classes began this afternoon. The Spring Semester is underway! Believe it or not, the temperature was actually a little warmer than last week so the mood was not all that wrong.
I only had one class, "Ethics: East and West." The first day of any class is always very light and this was no exception. We spent most of the period introducing ourselves and explaining our reasons for taking the class. The professor, at the very least, seems enthused about his subject which is a good omen. I found his use of dated lingo like "far out" to be a little amusing but not everyone can have their finger on the pulse of the culture like I do. Word.
He actually gave us some homework but it's nothing serious. Like many philosophy classes, it looks like the questions we'll be addressing are broad value-matters that have no "right" answer, which means so long as I explain why I think the way I do I should have no trouble passing.
I met Salena and Brendan in Osaka for one last meal together; they return to the States tomorrow and my full day of classes prevents me from seeing them off. They entertained themselves today by going to Nara and they were just as impressed by the big Buddha as I was last week. We ate some rotating sushi before heading over to Captain Kangaroo for a couple drinks. The place was very quiet, being Monday, but I wasn't looking to meet new people or party. We just chatted and had a good time. After that, we parted ways.
Remember my tease yesterday that Mako and I had something special planned soon? It fell through which I somehow expected because I started to get really excited about it. I swear, nothing ruins life like expectations. Had I played it cool and pretended like it was no big deal, our special meeting probably would have happened. Oh well, we'll still be getting together and eating out or something. I can always look forward to that...or can I?

Well, I think I caught up on reading now. Life is crazy here...! So over all, how were all your visitors? I can't wait for Selena to tell us how she liked the trip.
Hope you classes are going well? Mine suck and I'm very disappointed in them, but that's a long story. Anyway, talk to you soon

That is a very, very large buhdda(?), I am alway's interested by large man made things.
BTW, no, I am not gay (though I have been a member of GSA for 3 years running), its just that that guy is just only the most attractive man in the world. I can just tell if men are attractive or not, just like women can tell if the men in their lives have been unfaithful.
