One of Those Days

Hyde and I have often discussed the "burden" of blogging. While I've always maintained that I feel eager to post the fun/interesting stories that come up during my life, it can feel like a pain in the ass when nothing particularly fun or interesting happened that day. Such was the case today; with only two classes this was an entirely unremarkable Tuesday.

I'm starting to worry a little about the skit we're supposed to perform on Thursday. First we had to write the script with half of our group missing and then there seemed to be a problem getting the script mailed to everyone. At this point I'm confident everyone has the script but I have my doubts whether or not everyone has read the damn thing. When I asked when we could rehearse today (given that I only had two classes) it turns out we couldn't because of various conflicts. Tomorrow sounds like a similarly crowded day (I've got four classes myself) but it's our last opportunity to meet before presenting! I suppose I'm worrying too much about a silly little skit; I guess it's the acting bug I've got dwelling inside me.

Speaking of spirits dwelling inside me, I find myself growing increasingly upset with the news reports I read online (and occasionally see on TV). France has had riots for more than a week now and if I had a nickel for every time I've encountered the words bird flu I'd have at least five dollars by now. There's also the ongoing criminal activities of various White House stooges plus the very creepy reports of so-called black sites where our goddamn government is doing whatever the fuck it wants in the name of fighting the War on Terror (if they still call it that). And don't think I didn't notice that the newest Supreme Court nominee sounds like a hazardous right-winger.

Wow, I wish something had happened to me today. Thinking about the state of the world gives me a headache.

Feedback:
what about your love life?

what about sweet bedroom music?

See this is why I don't read the news. And really a day where nothing happens sounds absolutely blissful to me today.

What about the food that the people eat. I know about Mcdonalds and maybe wendies (mmmmmm... wendies triple burger meal, also known as a heart atack special) but what do the japanese eat? Like what are the chains of fast/slow food? ARE there any? I've always wanted to know what keeps them so healthy.

AND I ALMOST FORGOT YOSHINOA!!!! I"VE ALWAYS WANTED TO EAT THERE!!! IS IT AS GOOD AS I THINK IT IS?(I love wendies)

Wow Dan, you're blog is getting popular. Almost every post you leave returns a half dozen or more responses. I've not posted in a while but I've been checking it out more often.

I agree with Hammer, what's up with the love life?

hammer: Nothing new to report, I haven't seen Mako since Thursday. We'll be getting together very soon though.

wrench: If only we had a bedroom to play music in...

spins: Free time is precious but from a "diary" standpoint it's quite dull.

sam: Many of the fast-food chains you know in the US are here in Japan. McDonalds is huge, as is KFC. Domino's and Pizza Hut are here and they deliver just like in the States, although the toppings they offer here would probably surprise you. I see Wendy's (spell it right if you "love" it) sometimes but not very often. I've heard Taco Bell is here but I've never seen it and it's probably the only one I miss in that regard.

There are plenty of fast food places you haven't heard of as well, such as Mos Burger, Lotteria and Sukiya. Yoshinoya is quite popular and the good news is they have locations in New York (albeit with a different menu). Go there and enjoy the beef bowl, by all means!

Joe: Yeah, I'm not sure if the readership has actually increased or people have just felt more interested in leaving feedback than they used to. If you haven't already, just go back over the last few weeks and read all about my relationship with Mako.
