Short Sad Story
I dropped off a bunch of laundry today at a nearby cleaners. Dad uses this place a lot because it's very close to home. When I gave the lady my name and address, she looked at me and said,
I'm going out to another "Language Exchange" party tonight at the same location as the last one. Since I drank a lot last night, I'm going to try and exercise some better control tonight. Of course, if another afterparty develops I don't know if I can resist. At least I know I won't each too much; this restaurant serves lots of veggies in very small portions.
"Oh, I know him. Is that your brother?"That's a nice compliment for Dad but not so nice for me. And longtime readers might even remember that this has happened before.

why is that such abad thing for you that your dad is young-looking? If anything it's good-- says that when you're his age you'll also look young.
My dad looks young, yes, but the flip side of that comment is that I don't. I also look nothing like my father (or my sister for that matter) so I don't think of it is a good forecaster. My mom looks young though and I do look like her, so I've got that going for me.
