"Been A Long Time, Been a Long Time..."
Time for one last three-day weekend. Apparently Monday is some kind of holiday? Whatever, I want to get this one thing out in the open: I will be getting drunk this weekend. I've spent so many weeks moping and fretting over this Japan-thing that I've been living quite dry. This weekend, it's time to celebrate and get hammered. With any luck, I can avoid throwing up or deleting my blog...again.
Last night was another AGA meeting and, as usual, we got fucked. We meet in a penthouse in one of the large dormitory towers here at UAlbany. It's a big room with almost-comfortable furniture, a pool table, and a big-screen TV. Most of the time, the room is locked which makes no sense to me. When a student group (like us) signs up for the room, an RA is supposed to be there to unlock the door and "supervise" us. More often than not, our meetings are disrupted by an aberration in this procedure. You may recall that last week's meeting was cut short, well, this week's meeting was delayed because the RA who was supposed to show up didn't. Rumor has it they were taking a test or something but that doesn't change the fact that nearly every week, something goes wrong and we get fucked.
On the bright side, I ended up hanging out with Mikhail and Co. again. Actually, I should just say their names, Belinda and Victor. Like last week, we hung out in Mikhail's room and played a few games and ate some food. Speaking of which, Mikhail said he read last week's post and felt it was unfair that I mentioned him beating me at his games but I didn't mention my ability to beat him at Capcom Fighting Evolution. I didn't mention it for two reasons: First, I don't like to boast about that kind of thing unless I'm making a larger point. Secondly, I feel that both Mikhail and I play with restricted abilities because the game is very hard to control with the standard PS2 controller. If I had a job, I'd buy a real joystick to play with. Then we'd see who the better fighter is.
It's real quiet around here as most people have left for the weekend. This should allow me to do all my laundry in peace before getting drunk and playing my music too loudly. Let me know if you want in. BYOB as I only have enough to plaster myself.
