Relieved
I woke up this morning to a wonderful surprise: I wasn't in my dorm room! There was no roommate snoring, my bed was spacious and comfortable, and I could see skyscrapers out the window. I still had an awkward dream (not a nightmare but I was glad it ended when it did) but overall I am thrilled to be free of my miniscule home in Albany.
What will I do today? I have no idea, I might do nothing.

Splashdown
I'm back in the city again. Albany can freeze its balls off for the next four weeks and I won't give a damn. Sure, it's chilly here in NYC too, but at least I can have a decent meal for a change.

任務完了 (Mission Complete)
That's it folks, the fat lady has sung. One full-time college semester down, about five to go. Tonight's exam went really well, by my estimation, so I expect an A in that class. Let's guess what my GPA will be, keeping in mind that I already have two A's from my quarter-classes:
Worst-case scenario: 3.2 (that means C in History, B+ in Russian Cinema, and B- in English)
Best-case scenario: 3.6 (if I score a B- in History, A in Russian Cinema, and B+ in English)
Either way, I am confident that I have at least a 3.0 GPA, which is the minimum qualification for studying abroad! I'm not counting any chickens yet, but this is what I had to do and I did it. I'm celebrating with food and drink tonight, and tomorrow I'll go back to New York City for an extended, well-earned break. To all my friends at home, I'll be hanging out this weekend. To any internet friends who might read this, I'll still be blogging and reading my e-mail, so we'll keep in touch!

Chillin' and Killin'
A new icy winter color scheme is coming soon. I know autumn, technically, goes until next week, but it's really fucking cold and the beautiful leaves are all long gone.

Delicious
...the approaching break. I can taste it, it is so close. Lots of people around here are packing up and some have already left. My roommate took his last final today. Unfortunately, he's not leaving for break, as he has nowhere to go. I'm leaving on Friday, because my last final is tomorrow evening and I'd rather not come down in the middle of the night. Instead, I think I'll hang out, have a drink or two and celebrate the end of my first successful, full-time college semester ever.

Down the Stretch I Comes
The History final is in the books. I feel OK about the results; after all, "any landing you can walk away from is a good one." My final final is Thursday evening, and I feel pretty confident about my prospects on that one. I'd feel even better if I knew what my grades were for my last two papers, but I am a patient man.

STRESS'D
I pulled an all-nighter last night doing schoolwork. Not a great idea, as I'm really tired now but I have to study for an exam tomorrow morning. It's my history class final exam, and it sounds pretty tough. I just have to keep telling myself that it doesn't matter, because it doesn't. So long as I pass the exam, I'll pass the course, and at this point that's all I need. If I never hear another word about Calvinism the rest of my life...

Proof of Love
You know someone loves you when they travel to Albany just to see you. That's not a slight against those who have not visited, it is merely an expression of my gratitude to my mother who came up to see me today, if only for a few hours.
One last week to go. Should be "home" on Friday, unless some freaky-deaky party goes down which might delay my departure until Saturday.
