I'm Alive!

Just a quick word to let you all know that I made it alive to France. The trip from New York to Dijon (via Geneva, Paris, airplane, bus and train) went off without a hitch. Now I have the small task ahead of me of building a new (temporary) life here in Dijon. I can't say I'm really stressed about it but I realize that I am a bit lazy and shy. I will really have to make an effort to fill my time since my job as a language assistant only takes up 12 hours a week. Yikes! It's something I should be excited about, and I am, but it's also a bit daunting. It has also been a bit lonely since I haven't met any of the other assistants yet. There is a training session next week. But, things are progressing. I managed to open a bank account today but getting a phone is a whole different ball of wax. Cell phones are relatively expensive, and there are just way too many options and details for my mind to absorb. Plus, it's all in French! Until next time...
